Pottery Experience - July 18th 1PM

We’re bringing the pottery studio to The Releafery for a hands-on clay experience that’s equal parts creative and relaxing. During this guided hand-building pottery experience, you’ll learn simple, beginner-friendly techniques to shape and design your own functional piece of pottery.
 
What you’ll make:
You’ll create one pottery piece—choose a cup, mug, or bowl—and make it your own with texture, patterns, and personal details.
 
We’ll walk you through hand-building techniques such as:  
- Pinch pot shaping (a great foundation for cups and bowls)  
- Coil building (for adding height and form)  
- Slab building (for structure and clean shapes)  
- Decorating with texture tools, carving, stamps, and design details  
 
No pressure, no perfection—just a fun creative experience with clay.
 
What happens after (the “after” process):
After the event, we’ll carefully take your piece back to our studio to complete the professional finishing process:  
 
1) Drying (slow + careful so it doesn’t crack)  
2) First kiln firing (turns it into ceramic)  
3) Glazing (to make it glossy + food-safe)  
4) Second kiln firing (final finish + durability)  
 
Your finished piece will be ready after the firing & glazing process (timing will be shared at the event).

Good to know
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on (clay washes out!)
